The best fake-dating storyline I read so far! This book is super sweet and cute, without feeling too cheesy. I fell in love with the characters and plot, and I wish I could re-experience reading it for the first time again!

This series is my ALL TIME FAVORITE SERIES. If you like fae fantasy books with good romance and an amazing cast of characters, check this series out! A Court of Thorns and Roses is the first book in this trilogy, but in my personal opinion it’s the second book that really shines (A Court of Mist and Fury). I have recommended this book to all my friends, and have yet to find someone who doesn’t like it.

This is the perfect sweet and whimsical book. The main character is a 40-something year old social worker for magical children, and this story follows an assignment of his where he visits an orphange housing "the most dangerous magical children alive". Everything is not as it seems though, and this book will leave your heart full. A must read for sure!

I read this book a while ago and still think of it constantly. I will forever be impressed with how Samantha Shannon was able to fit such a complex, high-fantasy story into a single stand-alone novel. It contains everything from magic, to dragons, to secret societies of women, to queer representation, to warring kingdoms, eilte training forces, beautiful friendships, spies and so much more. My friend describes this book as a female-driven Game of Thrones and I think that is pretty accurate. While this book is well-written, I do caution people that it takes a decent amount of mental power/attention to keep all the characters and fighting kingdoms straight (but there are wonderful maps and a character glossary to help you out).

"An unforgettable—and Hollywood-bound—new thriller... A mix of Hitchcockian suspense, Agatha Christie plotting, and Greek tragedy."
—Entertainment Weekly

One of my favorite books I read in 2021! This beautiful and tragic retelling of Achilles and Patroclus tugs on all the heart strings and is impossible to put down. Be prepared to have your heart broken with this one in the best way possible! It has been on the bestselling list for Independent Bestsellers for weeks and weeks, which is a testament for how deeply loved it is. Madeline Miller is a mastermind at rewriting Greek stories! It also meets the criteria for two Read Harder challengers as it is both a queer retelling and was the winner for the Women’s Prize list in 2012!

What happens when America's First Son falls in love with the Prince of Wales?

I don’t know if anyone can relate, but classic books terrify me. Before reading Emma, I had only read classics for school and didn’t have great experiences. However, I bought this book on a whim and I am so glad I did. Emma is a character-driven novel with a super interesting and entertaining cast. We get to see how the main character, Emma, navigates new friendships, love, family, and neighborhood drama. If classics feel daunting, but you are also interested in trying one out, I would recommend Emma for sure!

I just recently read this YA fantasy book for a book club I am a part of and I thought it was so good! In this world, every 16 year-old girl goes through a Purity Ritual in which the purity of their blood is revealed. Red blood means you’re human, golden blood means you are not. When main character Deka is discovered as having golden blood, she has to make the decision of being killed or joining the emperor's secret army to fight the deathshrieks (creatures ravaging the human lands). Through the course of the book, Deka creates wonderful friendships, uncovers dark secrets, and starts to realize the true extent of her powers. A wonderful read all around!

This enemies-to-lovers, romantic comedy was an absolute joy to read! Main character, Olive Torres, is the complete opposite of her twin sister Ami, who is the luckiest person alive. Except for when Ami’s wedding day dinner gives everyone food poisoning except for Olive and Olive’s arch nemesis, the best man Ethan. Now Olive and Ethan are going off on Ami’s honeymoon so that the trip doesn’t go to waste, but they find more than just pretty beaches and good drinks. If you like romantic comedies, I highly suggest you check out this one!

The Starless Sea is one of the most beautifully written books I have ever come across (read the back cover if you want a taste of the writing style). This book is whimsical, complex, deeply layered, and so so unique. The majority of this book takes place in an underground, otherworldly, labyrinth of a library accessible through painted doors hidden all around the globe. This world filled with books and stories definitely is a favorite!

Circe was a Women’s Prize shortlist pick for 2019 and is a wonderfully written version of Circe’s story. Madeline Miller does a fantastic job of fitting in so many Greek myths into one book in an easily digestible way. So many Greek favorites make an appearance in this novel, and I simply couldn’t put it down!
