[Zoom Event) INWG Meeting

Frank Speaks to INWG

I am thrilled to announce that our good friend, Frank Zafiro, has accepted my invitation to speak to the Guild at our September Zoom meeting. Frank, who writes in the crime fiction genre, is a prolific author and has produced 30 novels so far (with a new one coming in October and one due for release in November).  If you can’t wait, “read ahead” by going to Frank’s website:  http://frankzafiro.com  In the meantime, let me tell you a bit about him.

Frank is locally born and still lives not far from Spokane. Maybe that’s why he uses Spokane settings in more than half of his books. Not content to be a popular author, he is also the creator and editor of a series of novellas titled A Grifter’s Song, which has featured several area writers, including our own Asa Marie Bradley and Colin Conway. That brings to mind writer’s classes Frank held several years ago (at Auntie’s). It came in three separate series, each lasting several weeks. I was fortunate to have participated in those classes and I learned so much from him that I’m still digesting it all. When it comes to crime fiction, Frank knows his stuff, having spent a number of years with the Spokane Police Department before finally retiring as a captain. That experience shines through on his podcast – Wrong Place Write Crime – when he interviews a range of other writers about their craft.

Frank comes to us with a wealth of knowledge and experience. Be prepared to ask your questions about crime writing or other facets of the publishing business. Frank is a hybrid writer, publishing through both traditional and self-publishing approaches, so he has much to share with all of us. Don’t miss this golden opportunity for growth in your craft!
