Discovery Book Club & Salon

Leader: Linda (she/her)

Our May ZOOM meeting (Thurs May 9 at 12 noon) will feature a "discussion salon" focusing on the topic:

"The Merry Month of May" - Let's talk about all the reasons why May is a great month!

Do you have any favorite holidays or observances that you like in May? Come share your thoughts and hear from others. Here are some of my special days:

1st - May Day
2nd - International Harry Potter Day
3rd - International Wild Koala Day
5th - Cinco De Mayo
12th - Mothers Day
16th - National Love a Tree Day
18th - National River Cleanup Day
20th - World Bee Day
22nd - Sherlock Holmes Day
29th - World Otter Day

And, of course, May is Mental Health Awareness Month.

There are also some possible books included below that are related to May activities... check 'em out! Then...

Come join us for a conversation in a safe space where we are all respected and encouraged to express our opinions with each other. We'd love to have you with us!

This special monthly zoom group is all about Discovery - of ideas, new books, author's insights, and all things literarily wonderful! Note: only author visit events will be recorded and available to be viewed at your convenience on U-Tube.

  • Sometimes we'll discuss a question (salon) and talk with other booklovers ("bring" your own beverage to the zoom wink);
  • sometimes we'll get to hear about what you have been reading and want to share;
  • sometimes we'll have a guest author who can tell us why they wrote their book(s) and answer our questions about the plot, the characters, theme, and about themselves.

I hope you can join us often. Just check here to "discover" what is coming next. Then make sure you're on the list to receive zoom links and "Bob's Your Uncle," you're in!
