Canceled: Reading with John Lawton
On Saturday, May 20, at 7 P.M. John Lawton will give a "book talk" and will sign copies of his book North Western Journeys: Spokane Pioneers and Scablands Settlers. He will tell how he discovered the life story of the grandfather he never knew, he will provide historical context for a family saga of westward migration and settlement, and relate stories of one family's trek to frontier Spokane and homesteading further west into the channeled scablands. John W. Lawton is a native of Yakima, Washington where he graduated from high school. He was educated at The George Washington University in Washington, D.C. and Washington State University in Pullman, Washington. He is retired from a career in city management and he and his wife Carol divide their time between their home in Montana's Little Belt Mountains and the Central Coast of California where they can be near their grandchildren.
