Come meet two up-and-coming Portland novelists! Alexis Smith is the author of Glaciers, which features a day in the life of Isabel, a 20-something who works with damaged books in the basement of a library. Isabel’s thoughts revolve around the disappearance of glaciers she knew as a young girl in Alaska. Evan P. Schneider is founding editor of Boneshaker, a magazine about bicycles. Schneider reads from his novel, A Simple Machine Like the Lever, now in its second printing, in which Nick and his bicycle pedal hopefully through a recession-battered existence. Location:
