News to Know:

10/29/09 Garth Stein was in town as the guest author for Spokane is Reading. During his presentation he announced that The Art of Racing in the Rain is being made into a movie with Patrick Dempsey who will play Denny.

11/11/09 A film version of Eat, Pray, Love Starring Julia Roberts is now in production. 

11/11/09 Stephen King's novella, The Colorado Kid is set to be made into a 13-part miniseries called "Haven."

Production on "Haven" is set to start early next year ahead of a planned fall 2010 airdate.

The drama will portray a small Maine town where the cursed attempt to lead normal lives as FBI agent Audrey Parker investigates supernatural forces that threaten to unravel the many mysteries of Haven.

1/27/2010 David Grann's highly praised Lost City of Z will be making its way to theaters sometime in 2010, thanks to Brad Pitt and his production company Plan B. James Gray, perhaps best known for We Own the Night, is slated to direct. This may explain the hideous beard Mr. Pitt has been sporting recently.
